Case Details

A 75 year female patient came with a lesion in left eye from 1 year. An incision biopsy was done which revealed it to be a basal cell carcinoma of the eyelid. BCC is the most common eyelid malignancy, accounting for over 90% of malignant eyelid neoplasms. Doctor excised the full thickness of the eyelid having the lesion with a safe margin. After biopsy confirmed the margins to be clear of the tumor, reconstruction was performed by 2 stage Huges procedure in which a defect in the lower eyelid is repaired by tissue from the upper eyelid. Patient was happy to have a tumor free functional eyelid again .
